Prior to moving out, my old basement tenant worked hard to sell and then free-cycle most of her furniture. Pictured is a metal table frame that she had used as a stand for her aquarium. It spent four long days on my patio waiting for a free-cycle person to pick it up - but for whatever reason they never did. Finally I told my tenant that I might have a use for the piece and she gladly let me have it.
At first I thought about having a couple of pieces of glass cut for the top and bottom area and using this as a table. But I really did not need another small table inside my house. What I did need was more space saving ideas for flower pots in my garden area. So I simply dropped a couple of pots into the frame and placed another below and presto - plant stand! It would have been nice if all three pots fit along the top, but I kind of like how this ended up looking. Nothing wrong with simple now is there!Labels: Solutions, Upcycle |
Hey, I watch that HGTV show all the time - Trash to Treasure! I also agree that sometimes the simple transformations are the best. I never would have thought to just plop a couple of flower pots into that frame. You have given me some inspiration to go look in my garage and attic and see if I can re purpose some items for my garden.
