Update from around Boston Gal's HQ
Driving around Boston this weekend I kept getting stuck behind cars with out-of-state license plates being driven by drivers having trouble navigating the streets of my fair city. Then it finally dawned on me - graduation season has begun and the city is filling up with relatives of soon-to-be graduates. This means two things to me personally - I must now avoid the city as much as possible until the students and their relatives clear out AND it is time to check in with my tenants since both leases are up on July first.

It looks like my condo tenant will be moving out while my basement tenant is staying put. With the condo vacancy I have some decisions to make. Is this a good time to take advantage of the empty unit in July and get some work done on the place? Finding workmen might be easier this summer with the economy in the state that it is in - so investing in some upgrades now might mean I can get more done for less money. Then there is the rental market - rumor has it that rents are on the rise once again in Boston thanks to so many buy-shy renters. So raising the rent could cover any improvements I put in place. Something for me to think about...

My car, which had been working fine, suddenly stopped working fine. So once again I need to take it to the mechanic. This time it is the breaks. I am crossing my fingers that this will not be a high ticket repair. I will find out on Monday.

The spring clean-up of my yard is finally complete and the weather is getting warmer. My cucumber seedlings are starting to grow while still inside in their little pots - time to get these outdoors and into my big containers. My backyard needs to start producing!

One of my siblings is having some major surgery later this week, so my mind is very much distracted. Hopefully all will go well and I will be visiting the sick bed with bushels of cucumbers - I hear they are the modern substitute for flowers...

I hope your cucumbers are fast growers, and not that your sibling will still be laid up by the time you are picking your veggies!
