WCVB TV asks: Should You Switch To A New Heat Source? My home uses natural gas and electricity - no oil. It is nice to see that both were much cheaper options than oil heat. Last winter the average New England family, with an average size home, paying the average state-wide price, spent $430 a month to heat with oil. Compare that to $266 a month for electric heat, and $206 a month to heat with natural gas. But as the report points out, prices fluctuate, and while oil heat is terribly expensive now, that could change... |
