Update from Boston Gal's HQ
I am still thinking about my financial goals for 2008, but have decided to give myself a bit more time to think about them before committing to them via a blog post.

I finally finished the Christmas Card project and should be able to mail the last one on my lunch break today. Now I have to write my traditional cards to the rest of the folks on my list, but first I have to buy the cards... Hopefully I can pick those up at lunch today as well. Snow storms are rolling toward Boston and it looks like I will have plenty of indoor time ahead of me to buckle down and finish card writing and start wrapping presents!

Speaking of presents, Amazon is kind of amazing me this year with fast shipping. At least the items going out via UPS. I do not pay for the yearly Amazon Prime shipping service, instead I like to rely on the Free Super Saver shipping (spend $25 or more - that thing). But my Amazon boxes shipped UPS are arriving two days after ordering (its like getting Prime shipping for free - and you know how much I love a deal)! The USPS stuff is taking longer. You have until Monday December 17th to order using Free Super Saver shipping and still get the box before December 24th.

I still have a few more gifts to purchase and now that it looks like we are going to get snowed in this weekend in Boston, I will probably try to finish it online rather than hit the mall. Hopefully avoiding the mall will also cut down on the shopping for myself. I have to admit I have been picking stuff up for me along with gifts for others.

Talking of spending - I think I am finally ready to reveal my big planned purchase. Look for a post later today with the reveal!

My guess is that you are buying another rental property. Am I right, Mz. Trump? :)

I ordered an item from Amazon late (after 6PM) on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving using the Free Super Saver shipping option, and my package arrived to my front door by 2PM Thursday. I got it in less than 42 hours using free shipping. Amazing.

I was thinking you were going to adopt a baby, but the use of the word "purchase" rather than "expense" makes me think I'm not on target!

My guess is that you're going to purchase solar power panels.
