| Holiday Bargain Shopping at Amazon.com |
I first posted this last year, but am reposting after being prompted by the reader below:Dear Boston Gal,
Last year I remember seeing a post you had created with searching tips for finding deals on Amazon.com. Can you point me to that post? When I search for Amazon.com on your blog I get a ton of Friday posts, but not the search tips post.
Love your blog and thanks in advance for sending me the search tips!
Happy Holidays,
S. M. Here is a link to the original post S. M. emailed me about: Holiday Bargain Shopping at Amazon.com
Here are the search tips:
For those who want to get very "techie" about their Amazon.com searches you can find bargains just by understanding how to manupulate the sites URLs. For example, say I am interested in finding a bargain (items discounted 75% off) in the Kitchen & Housewares section of Amazon.com. The store id or "node" for Kitchens & Housewares is 284507. My customized URL looks like this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?node=284507&pct-off=75
Want to find items in the Camera & Photo category discounted 50% - 75% off?
http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?node=502394&pct-off=50-75
How about searching in Apparel for items discounted 50% - 75%?
http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?node=1036592&pct-off=50-75
And last but not least is my favorite customized search link which tells me all of the bargains in the Home & Garden category that are 75% off, shipped by Amazon.com (so qualify for Free Super Saver Shipping if you spend $25 or more), and sorted by lowest price first!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?node=1055398&pct-off=75&emi=ATVPDKIKX0DER&sort=price
You will need to click through a bunch of screens when using the search link above to get beyond all of the drill bits (don't know why those are not in Home & Garden and not in tools)!Labels: Amazon Tips |
