Don't forget to check for Amazon.com price drops - you may deserve a refund!
Update: Amazon.com has discontinued the price drop policy :(

I did a lot of my Christmas shopping online this year - primarily with Amazon.com. As I mentioned last year in the post: Amazon dropped the price after purchase and I got the price difference back! Amazon.com has a 30 day price guarantee. If you make a purchase and the price drops within 30 days of that purchase you can ask that the difference be refunded.

Just login to your Amazon.com account, check your prior purchases (in the section "Where's My Stuff" select View by Order: Orders placed in the past 6 months) and check all those items which fall in the 30 day period to see if the price has dropped. If it looks like you are eligible for a refund go to the

Amazon.com Customer Service Contact Us Form

Select your order date and the item you want to claim the price drop rebate. Click on the Email button and then select "Refund Inquiry". In the message area explain that you purchased X for Y amount and that you now see X is Z amount and you would like the difference between Y - Z refunded to you.

It looks like I should be getting about $10.00 back due to price drops - gotta love that Christmas just got a bit cheaper!

I read about this website on another blog today:

    http://www.priceprotectr.com/index.jsp

You just add the items from Amazon.com (and several other sites) that you purchased items from, and they will keep track of them for you, and email you if the price changes.

If you don't want to keep checking yourself, you can enter your purchases into priceprotectr.com and it tracks it for you. I think I saved almost $18 in Amazon price drops on holiday purchases alone!

I did the refunds yesterday after reading your post (thanks!) and they even refunded me the difference for something I ordered on Nov. 26th (more than 30 days) so it helps to try even if its a few days past the 30 day limit.
