| Escape to the Islands |
It is starting to get hot in my fair city of Boston and that means one thing to me - escape! While many head to Cape Cod, the mountains, or lakes, I prefer the quick escapes found right here in the city - The Boston Harbor Islands.
For the cost of a ferry ticket ($10 early in the week - $12 later in the week and weekends) you can leave the hot pavement behind and enjoy the ocean breezes. The islands really are one of the most affordable ways to while away a hot summer day. Bring a picnic lunch and a good book or put on your hiking boots and explore (or both).Labels: Boston Bargains |

When I lived in Boston, I too used to enjoy the harbor islands. I used to go camping on Peddocks Island. Sadly, I don't think that camping is allowed anymore.
I enjoy your blog. thanks! DotCom Mom Originally from Dorchester, now living down south in Chapel Hill, NC
