Friday Afternoon Frivolity
OK - Not exactually personal finance related - but I thought this was cool. Someone in the office just showed me this 8 minute YouTube clip which has a scene of the Wizard of OZ with the Pink Floyd song Dark Side of the Moon playing over it. It is pretty amazing how the two go together.

So if you have some time to kill this afternoon, kick back, click on the clip, open your mind and watch! What I really want to know is - who the heck thought to put these two things together???? I am thinking college student + recreational drugs + too much time = this discovery.

Actually the whole movie + album can be played. There is some more detailed info over at wikipedia.org if you're interested.

Hahaha....probably so. As a matter of fact, I imagine that The Wizard of Oz and Dark Side of the Moon have their roots in recreational drugs too!

I think I have spotted the hidden financial angle to this post - Bimetallism and the Wizard of OZ. As you may or may not know the original Wizard of OZ book has Dorothy wearing silver slippers (not ruby) which travel down the Yellow Brick Road - this was seen as symbolism for Gold and Silver and the United States Monitary valuation policy. You can read more about it here!

Let me know if I got the hidden financial symbolism!
