| Yankee Ingenuity Rewarded |
A subway repair foreman thinks outside the box, using a $0.05 hair net and a bit of tape, he saves the T a significant amount of money. Last winter, the T experienced no traction motor failures because of snow, thanks in part to McHale's hair cap idea. Though conditions this past season were mild, T officials estimate his solution will save the agency $126,000 in repairs in an average year. Gotta love that Yankee Ingenuity!
