What a smart idea!
Today's Boston Globe has the story: Prom gown recycling a win-win. This is a GREAT idea. My high school prom gown ended it's life theatrically shredded and accessorized with mud and fake blood as a Halloween costume while in college (I was the "prom date who would not die" and won a best costume prize - so I consider the dress death an honorable one).

However, I know that if someone had asked me to donate my gently used dress before I used it for a costume I would have been happy to. I think it is great that the girls are buying these dresses for $10 - how smart are they!?! I know I spent over $100 on mine back in the day.

It's nice to see a program like that. We have something similar called Becca's Closet that was created by a high school girl who was killed in a car accident. Wonder how many more there are around the country?
