| Speed is good |
I review my fixed monthly expenses fairly frequently, as you can tell by my monthly utility updates. I do what I can to keep my costs low. One thing that I will not cut out is my cable broadband internet connection. It feeds my need for speed!
This broadband connection does so much for me. The speed allows me the occasional "work from home" day. I get to be generous and provide my basement tenant with free fast internet access. My VOIP phone is cheap and has a fixed monthly cost. Having a connection that is always on and always up allows me to blog frequently when at home. I can watch old TV shows for free. If I thought hard enough I could go on and on and on about the benefits.
If I had to choose between cable TV and cable broadband internet - the broadband would win hands down! |

Ditto for me. In my post about Buyer's Remorse last week, I mentioned that I hate the fact that I'm paying indirectly for satellite TV through my condo association fees. But I am grateful that our building is wired for high speed internet access. Downloading podcasts to my iPod would be painfully slow with dial up access :-)

I'm still living in the stone ages with dial up. I haven't given in to the urge for speed yet.

SingleMa, once you get broadband, you're going to love it.
Now that there is TV available on the internet, I'm screwed. I'll be glued to the PC monitor even more than I am now.

I use DSL and now have an Apple Airport wireless modem... great to use the computer anywhere in the apartment and when my girlfriend visits we both can be online at the same time. I even use a desktop and laptop side by side at the same time with the laptop wirelessly connected.
