| Podcast Interview and Mainstream Media link! |
If you have always wanted to hear the dulcet tones of this Boston Gal then check out the podcast interview I gave which is now posted on Money Blogger Podcast.
Ah, the insightful comments I made, the financial pearls of wisdom I spoke... OK, OK, that is the way I remember the interview - why let reality intrude on a good fantasy I say! Since I can't stand listening to my own recorded voice the rest of you will just have to listen to it and comment back with the brutal truth.
As if being interviewed wasn't enough, I also got a nice mention (and link) in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune. Ah, brings back fond memories of my Midwest years reading that paper. The road trip to LaCrosse, Wisconsin to see the world's largest six pack, then the trip across the Mississippi river into Minnesota... Good times, Good times.Labels: Media Mention |

Most excellent!
I must say, you don't sound Bostonian.
Anyway, I'll mention your podcast on ATF.
Have a great day!

This was the first pf-reated podcast I've listened to, and I think I'm now hooked. I really enjoyed your stories and found myself nodding in agreement with so much of what you said. Thanks Jane.
-
Great job Jane! I can relate to so much you said. My Open Wallet inspired me to create my blog too. I have to admit, Madame X is a bad sista! LOL
BTW, you sound soooo cute.
-
Thanks for you comments! Keep them coming...
The Boston accent was lost somewhere in the Midwest during my undergraduate years. I will need to go back and retrieve it one of these years :)
Once you start listening to these podcasts you get hooked. When Scott asked me to do the interview last week, I listened to a bunch for the first time. They are all very interesting. I encourage everyone to visit Scott's site and check them out.
Thanks for the cute comment - I finally listened and all I heard was all the ums... and dead spaces. Can you tell this is the first time I have ever been recorded while interviewed? Broadcasters have nothing to fear from me!
-
Kudos, Jane. I think you're being too hard on yourself. You came across as a very thoughtful, intelligent, articulate and upbeat person.
Also, I can relate to your story. I stumbled across fivecentnickel, freemoneyfinance and AllThings Financial about 2 months ago. It took me a bit longer to take the plunge, but I just started a personal finance blog as well.

I am giving you an ad click as a reward! Thanks for putting yourself out there.

Dude -- LaCrosse has the world's largest six-pack? I am so there! I have tried to get myself photographed at/near many "world's largest" stuff(s), but I did not know about the six-pack.
You're not going to tell me that you made this up now, are you?
-
Now would I lie about a thing like that?!?

Great interview. You didn't sound bad at all. Loved it.
Benjamin Frankin... You rock! Going back to the basics... da man.
-
I can't wait to hear your (no doubt) mellifluous voice.
-
no way on the empty spaces and "ums", you definitely flowed much better than most of us :P
I'll have to agree with dawn too, you didn't sound bad at all.
these interviews are coming along better and better.
-
Great job on the interview (and thanks for the mention.)
P.S. Wisconsin is also the home of the world's largest basket, and the world's largest replica cheese. (apparently it used to be a real world's largest cheese but started getting a little too funky)
-
Just a quick question were you a little nervous? In any case, nice podcast. Keep up the good work!
-
Nervous? Me nervous? Heck yes! Could you not tell? I was much more comfortable at the end than I was at the begining. Mostly I kept thing - don't say Um (Um - damn! Don't say that!)
-
-
Jane, I just asked that because I am the same way and I knew I would sound exactly the same if I had an interview like that. Anyway you sound much younger than 30-something :-)
-
Mr. P - you flatterer you! Next you will tell me I type like a 20-something!
JLP - Nope, not Kansas. Keep guessing :)
-
I have to say, Jane Dough, your voice is great. I could listen all day!
-
Midwest...I'm guessing Chicago?
-
Ah Chicago - that jewel of the Great Lakes... I have been to Chicago and enjoyed myself immensely, but no - wrong again...
-
I had the pleasure of hearing your podcast during my commute this a.m. Well done! I was a little surprised by the complete lack of accent. I don't know why; I spent 20 years in Texas and don't have an accent, but for some reason I expect all Boston natives to sound a certain way.
