| Vonage IPO? |
According to this article on USATODAY.com: Vonage hopes to raise $250 Million with IPO it looks like VOIP is about to be launched into the mainstream. With eBay owning Skype and now Vonage looking to line its pockets, we consumers could be in for some nice price wars in the near future.
My Mother recently converted to Comcast digital voice (which is VOIP) and she is paying almost $50 for the same service I am getting for $25 from Vonage. I am working on getting her to agree to go with Vonage, but I am need to find out if her phone number will port to Vonage, if it does I will win this one, if it doesn't the fight will be lost and she will continue to pay the higher Comcast rates (she has had that phone number for almost 40 years and refuses to give it up).
I have been a happy Vonage customer for almost 2 years now. As I have posted previously (see links below) the unlimited nationwide calling for $25 a month with the included features (caller id, voice mail, call forwarding, call waiting, email notification of new voicemails, etc.) is a great help to my monthly utility budget. Having a fixed and predictable cost is wonderful. If you have been thinking about signing-up for Vonage and would like a referral (for one month's free service) send me an Email at bostongalsopenwallet [at] yahoo.com and I will be happy to send you one.
Just another reason I love Vonage Why I love VOIP |
