Stopped at Staples tonight
and purchased two of the "Free After Rebate" offers I mentioned yesterday. Unfortunately I noticed that Staples removed the page on their website I had linked to previously which advertised the deals. If you did not have a chance to print out the page or did not see the item until today, no worries, the deals were mentioned in the Sunday circular and here is an image of a few of the items.

These deals were not advertised within the store I visited. Instead I did have to search within the store for the items. I finally ended up purchasing the 12 pack of Sharpie pens (be careful they have 24 pack & 8 pack displays everywhere, I was glad I had the printout to ensure I purchased the correct one) and the four pack of uni-bal pens (again, look out for the correct 4 pack). Once I purchased both at the register two rebate forms printed out. The clerk was very helpful in gathering up the long ream of paperwork and binding it with paperclips.

I went online as soon as I arrived home and entered the purchases on the Staples easy rebate site as instructed by the ream of paperwork.

Here is the cost breakdown:

UNIBAL 207 GEL ME $4.44
SHARPIE FINE ASST $8.00
SUBTOTAL $12.44
5% MA TAX $ .62
TOTAL $13.06
REBATE -$4.44
REBATE -$8.00
FINAL COST $0.62

I went in to the store looking for the items and only found the 65 pack of post-it picture paper. I needed the manager to help and eventually he grudgingly found the post-it paper but gave me the wrong pack. I realized his "error" and went back and got the right one. For being "easy" they did make it that way.
I will go back tomorrow for the other stuff.

Hey, thanks for the tip, Jane. I did happen to go to Staples this week (for a surge protector with a ten foot cord) and I also needed Sharpies (for labelling tupperware containing toddler lunch items).

I found them easily and submitted my rebate online:

Woo hoo! I just got back from Staples. Got the Uni-ball pens, Sharpies, and the Post It sticky picture paper. I had a 12% off coupon and a $2 off coupon. After I get the rebates, I will have walked out with 3 free products and additional $3.80 in my pocket. Yay!

Excellent deal Piannist! Nothin better than getting paid to take free stuff from a store!

Managed to enter both the sharpie & Uniball on EasyRebates? My wife bought the same items but could not get use EasyRebates as the rebate-offer number is the same for both the items. A call to Staples indicated that one can only buy one or the other of the "Free-after-rebate" items. She was going to return one of the items. Thought I'd ask. How did you enter the items on EasyRebate? Info appreciated.

I entered it twice. The easyrebate site shows the following for me:

    Rebate Offer: 06-42057
Purchase Sharpie Fine Tip Permanent Markers, Asst. Dozen (SKU 463710) or Uni-ball Signo 207 Gel Retractable Pens, Medium Point, Black, 4/Pack (SKU 555024) and get a full refund of the purchase price after rebate at Staples Stores ONLY.
    Products Purchased:
    Sharpie Fine Asst

    Gel 207 Medium Black

    Validation complete. $12.44

So I did purchase both and I am getting the purchase price of both back. Not sure why - I did not really do anything special (other than enter the claim twice using the website). My Staples store did not have any info within the store about the offer and the page I printed from the Staples website did not spell out Either/Or, however I do see the OR on the rebate now as I read it. Hopefully I will get the full $12.44 back (the cost of the two items) as indicated by the website.

Sorry I could not be more help. Good Luck

Thanks for the quick post on multiple items on StaplesEasyRebates. I did enter only once. This time around, both the items were identified as being eligible for rebate. Will wait and see what happens. I will download the image from your original post which clearly states that one of each item is eligible for rebate, in case there is a problem. Thanks again.

Came across your blog from another one about personal net worth. Interesting... Didn't know such blogs existed
