| Hello World! |
Since starting this blog I have become somewhat addicted to reviewing my visitor statistics. Usually I just check how many visits I have seen for a given day and leave it at that. Today I started clicking around to see what other fascinating information I could find. That is when I stumbled across this map. Now, on a daily basis, the map is not that impressive. But today I found that I could display all my visitors since the start of 2006. Wowza! Who knew so many folks would take the time to visit little ole' me?
But then I started focusing on the bits of the map without an orange dot. Three areas I am most peturbed to have not yet conquered (yeah, I am starting to view this map like the RISK board, I need an army (aka orange dot) on each country then I can declare myself Queen of the World) are Alaska, Greenland, and Iceland. I guess I will need to start gearing my content toward those regions in order to step up my quest for global domination.
Or I could just be grateful anyone at all takes the time to read my dribble and stop playing nerdy war games in my head with statistical data maps. |

Just don't try to take over Asia. It never works in Risk, and I doubt it would work for you :-)
Late congrats on the dime find a few days back!

That's a pretty cool graph. What service do you use to get it?
-
Ah yes, the graph - it is very pretty and so nicely coordinates with my blog :)
I signed-up for Google Analytics back in late October. Soon after I signed-up they stopped taking new accounts since they were flooded. The service is in beta and it looks like you now need to get on an invitation list to get an account. Details for how to get on the invitation list are in the link above.
You can also sign-up for a SiteMeter account and they do have a map. It is just not quite so pretty nor as flexible (at least not for the free service).

Hi Bailey,
Nice blog - and kudos to you for picking up so much free money! I will heed your strategic advice and refrain from deploying my armies into Asia. I shall instead continue to focus all energies and troop deployments on the artic circle. Watch out Santa - I am comin after that North Pole!

Heya, I am a frequent visitor and I hail from Anchorage, Alaska.
-
Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha (hear evil laugh in your head) my sinister plan appears to be working! Thank you anonymous in Alaska! Now make sure to tell all your friends about me or just login to my blog 80 times or so a day and my dream of a large orange blob obscuring the 49th state will come true!
-
If you zoom in close enough on Michigan, you'll see me waving! :P
(I'm the one in the blue hat)

Yes, I do see you Bored. I am giving you a Queenly wrist-twist wave back :)

I have been to (and found change in) Alaska, so maybe you can count that for something. Love the blog. It's now daily reading.
-
Thanks Chris! Now, can you fly to Greenland and login to my blog? I hear that the beaches of Greenland are flush with change. Not promising you will come back with pockets bulging but rumors do abound!
Thanks for visiting my blog and the nice words :)

Hello! I discovered your blog today and have been digging in the archives. I couldn't resist leaving a comment to this post. I'm sure your readership has increased from Jan 2006 but just wanted to say hello from Kuwait :)
